The mystery of Atlético, André Moreira and Moreirense

Moreirense, who were promoted back to the Portuguese top flight last season, have confirmed the loan capture of Portugal under-19 goalkeeper André Moreira.
Besides the uncanny resemblance between the player and club's names, the strangest thing about the deal is that the starlet has joined from Atlético de Madrid (the 'Rojiblancos' have admitted as much off the record), despite no official announcement having ever been made about Moreira moving to the Calderón in the first place.
The 18-year-old impressed at the Under-19 European Championship this past summer, at which Portugal reached the final before losing 1-0 to Germany. A young giant in the Courtois and Oblak mould - he stands 1.95 metres tall despite still being a teenager - he is a product of the academy at lower-division outfit Ribeirão and has reportedly signed a six-year contract at Atlético (i.e. until 2020).
According to Moreirense, Moreira had attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United, Benfica, Valencia and Monaco before agreeing to join the 'Rojiblancos'. Reports in Portugal suggest that super-agent Jorge Mendes acquired the shotstopper's rights a few months ago and was a driving force behind his two moves this summer.
